    1. This is the second Sterek fic I've read by this author that had a scenario I'd not encountered, in this case with weres as slaves to humans. In sharp contrast to Cherrybomb this is not an enjoyable read, mostly because the author manages to craft a picture of slavery that leaves out all the titillating aspects, in favor of giving a bleak, quietly unsensational picture of an institution so entrenched even fundamentally decent characters have trouble imagining a world without it--sort of like read [...]

    2. Before reading this I would heed the warning tags. In this AU, werewolves are basically slaves. They wear collars that inhibit their very wolfy nature and are tagged (tattooed) to show that they are owned. If a werewolf does not have both of these things, they're basically caught, imprisoned and then possibly sold into a worse fate than being on the run and hunted.Stiles is a detective and he comes across Derek, a captured collared (not tagged) werewolf. Due to his parents' work toward werewolf [...]

    3. A competent Sterek slavefic. Detective Stiles rescues wer slave Derek and hides him at his house. As Derek's history emerges, the guys attraction for each other becomes apparent.'There was definitely some hardcore hugging going on. Awkward hardcore hugging because, well, claws, but there were big, warm (naked) arms around him and a nose pressed against his neck, and as confusingly enjoyable as it was, Stiles figured he’d better speak up before all the air got squeezed out of his lungs. He manag [...]

    4. Detective Stiles helps Derek, an untagged, but collared, stray alpha werewolf, who ran away from his owner three years ago. Stiles wants to move Derek to the Alaskan sanctuary, where he could live a peaceful life, but things don't go as planned. “Can you smell it on me?”“That you love me?” Derek asked incredulously. “No. Love’s not a smell. It’s you hopping an electric fence and breaking into a fucking dungeon when you couldn’t even be sure I was alive. That’s either love or a [...]

    5. Stiles is a detective in an AU where werewolves are known and used as slaves (by being collared and tagged). Isaac (also a cop) brings in an untagged Alpha (Guess Who?) who is collared. And the mystery begins. Stiles believes he can get Derek to a secret sanctuary without being caught by authorities or by Derek's law breaker owners. Derek isn't feral in this - but definitely leery and standoffish in this. It was nice seeing him grow to trust and then love Stiles. A lot of time spent in a state o [...]

    6. I'm not sure how to rate this one as I found the ending troubling. In general I felt the author and the story dealt with the slavery issues in a thoughtful way, but the ending was too The author definitely tried to not just make everything just wonderful now that the Argents had been vanquished. But Derek accepting being tagged and Stiles' slave just bugs me. It feels a little OK slavery in the way some stories are OK homo. I'm not sure what would have been the right ending to please me though. [...]

    7. This was freaking beautiful. First of all: cop!Stiles, which never fails to make me happy. Second: hurt (or well, really, enslaved and broken and traumatised) yet still strong and absolutely awesome!Derek. And just a superb setup. I loved the world the author has created, it's such an uncomfortable, believable, well-thought-out place. The slavery theme was really well done, and the hunting and the Service bits suitably horrifying. The supporting characters were great, as was the growing trust an [...]

    8. Reminds me of two other works (I don't recall relative publication dates, but Partner and Undesirable are strong parallels), so the plot wasn't anything new to me. So nothing fantastic, but I read through it, because it was still an interesting read.Liked the legend of Stilinski theme in the end.

    9. More like 3.5 almost 4* but the subject/plot made me like it a little less despite the great characterization & writing.
