    1. I like the idea, not so sure on what was done with it. Ending punted this into two star territory, to be honest.

    2. Not a terrible premise, but too much vacillating on the part of the characters for no reason. Switching between characters' POVs was interesting, but sometimes seemed unnecessary. In general, it seemed like the book could have been much tauter. Also, a little deus ex machina at the very end, as though the author got stuck and didn't know what to do.

    4. Well written, to be sure. Not dated in the least. Kept me interested till the very end. The denouement, however, more typical of another genre than of a mystery.

    5. I found this book somewhat confusing with the changes in points of view and train journeys hopping all over Europe. A bit hard to follow but surprisingly up to date.
